Search Committee Charge

Having appointed a Search Committee composed of Ms. Jenifer Leach, Chairperson, Ms. Caroline Aland, Mr. Dennis Conrad, Ms. Juanita Dombkowski, Ms. Samantha Hoffman, Mr. David Lee and Mr. Jeffrey Pike.

The Church Wardens and Vestry

Christ Church Parish, Stevensville, Kent Island, Maryland

charge them to locate a Priest-in-Charge for the Parish, undertaking that work with these guidelines:

  • A survey of the Parish will be taken to derive data from which a Parish profile can be published. This Parish survey should be developed, taken, and the data from it collated on or before 15 March 2024.
  • A Parish profile document will be composed for publication to the wider Church. This Parish profile will include data received from the survey as well as pertinent data describing Stevensville and environs, The Diocese of Easton and other information deemed useful in communicating with prospective candidates. This Parish profile should be completed and available for circulation on or before 1 May 2024.
  • Receive names, conduct appropriate investigations and interviews, and vet candidates to formulate a slate of no less than two nor more than five candidates.
  • The Church Wardens and Vestry expect that all candidates should be regularly ordained, seminary trained Priests of The Episcopal Church, with special preference shown for persons who have graduated from a seminary of The Episcopal Church. The slate should be available on or before 15 October 2024.
  • In all matters, usual and customary search procedures will be employed following current best practices; confidentiality and discretion are expected to insure the well-being of all concerned. The Search Committee will remain in regular contact with the search consultant, The Rev’d Frank Crumbaugh, and The Canon to the Ordinary of Easton, Mr. John Dragone.
  • Costs for the Search will be borne by the Parish, and expenditures will be reported monthly to The Church Wardens and Vestry of Christ Church Parish.
