Bulletin for 09-19-2021 The Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost
Enjoy a special treat from the Westminster Ringers!
On Wednesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. we will have a short Zoom session to introduce the Sacred Ground program that we will offer again this fall on a day, time and method (Zoom or in person) that works for the most people.
Sacred Ground is a 10-session program composed of outstanding videos and readings that walk participants back through history in order to peel away the layers that brought us to today, reflecting on family histories and stories, as well as important narratives that shape the collective American story. The program is intended to begin the work of Becoming Beloved Community where all people are honored, protected, and nurtured as beloved children of God. Participants in the program last year divided into small groups to discuss the videos and readings and share personal stories. They were uniformly enthusiastic about the quality of the materials and enjoyed getting to know each other’s stories. One participant said “The Sacred Ground course taught me facts about the history of our country that I never knew before. As a result, I have a new perspective on the current divisiveness and upheaval in the nation and how I might respond, and I am interested in learning more.”
